The skills hub has the advantage of being built in the State that is experiencing rapid development within the country and in the region, thereby creating a critical skills gap of more than 100,000 people particularly in the oil & gas industry in RAPID Pengerang and its surrounding areas, integrated tourism attractions at Desaru Coast, as well as other industrial growth areas.

One of the key success factors for a thriving vocational skills training hub is the creation of a healthy collaborative network between the training providers and the industries. It is not enough to just recruit students and trainees for the purposes of training & certification per se. The industry ecosystem is vital to the success and sustainability of the project.

The industries do not just provide advice but will be active partners in terms of providing their requirements, curriculum design, training equipment, practical sessions, internship and job placements. They will also provide teaching & training as well, through the panel of adjunct faculty members.
